STATUS: REGULAR/FULL TIME

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The APOC Procurement team has an opportunity at our Ottawa, Ontario / Canada site. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for establishing, articulating, and implementing sourcing strategies for diverse portfolios, including Injection Molding, Chemicals, Paper and others. Work closely with key stakeholders in both Division and Corporate organizations to develop effective cost reduction, supply continuity and risk mitigation strategies and implementation plans. Our incumbent requires a proactive approach that is relationship oriented and customer focused, analytical and data-driven, creative and committed to continuous improvement. The position reports to the division Sr. Procurement Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES: ​

Develop sourcing, supply continuity and risk mitigation strategies for the portfolios such as Injection Molding, Chemicals, Paper and others.

Supplier relationship management: Select and evaluate new suppliers and vendors. Build and maintain supplier commercial relationships.

Improve challenging suppliers performance (Service, Quality, Commercial).

Lead / support major contract negotiation with suppliers, develop a glide path with key suppliers to continuous cost reduction and execute the plan.

Drive total cost of ownership reduction by optimizing Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 supply chains.

Monitor global market dynamics and anticipate business critical actions that may be required for business continuity and financial improvement.

Represent and be the Procurement leader in cross-functional initiatives across Ottawa site.

Nurtures stakeholder relationships by serving as Procurement business partner, helping to identify business critical needs and requirements while providing support that meets immediate and long-term demand.

Work with Abbott legal counsels to ensure contract integrity and minimize APOC business/legal/financial risks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

8+ years of Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain or related experience.

Very good negotiating skills

Experience with global suppliers and global sourcing strategies

Ability of working in a fast-paced matrix organization.

Autonomy and must be able to operate with limited supervision

Highly motivated, result driven, financially competent

Strong communication, persuasion, presentation, and interpersonal skills

10% to 20% travel is expected (After pandemic)
